Committee

Welcome

The club was formed in late 1992 by a group of five or six skippers who were mainly interested in sailing and racing the radio controlled 6 metre class.

There soon followed a keen interest in the 1 metre class (IOM) and the club started to grow rapidly and embraced marblehead skippers.

By this time the membership increased to thirty plus, a situation maintained today. Within the past year there has been a dramatic increase in the following of the laser class and currently some eight members sail this class regularly. This has absorbed the demise in popularity of both the 6 metre and marblehead class.

During the club's history we have hosted a number of important events including national championships, regional heats and laser association competitions. The club has a strong program of competitive events but newcomers and casual skippers are welcome.

We sail Wednesday afternoons as well as Sunday mornings and it is not too rare to see scale craft looking majestic at our fine sailing venue.

Sunday 13th July 2008. A very good days sailing with fine sunny weather and brisk winds, and the results tell it all. Paddy and Graham battled it out with Paddy two points ahead on the un-discounted score but Graham had the best of the discards to pull one point ahead read more »

WHAT! There aren't any? or perhaps only three! That was how many skippers turned up to sail today. At one point we thought we might have to cancel the event as there were only two ready to sail at 10AM but then Chris turned up to save the day. The read more »
